Recent reviews…
Having neglected my poor little site for months, here’s an update from some recent shows I did.
The Eight: Reindeer Monologues was a huge amount of fun to perform in last December and we got some nice reviews. Here’s a snippet from one:
“Rachel Grundy stands out as Blitzen, a feminist reindeer deeply troubled by the rampant corruption in Santa’s workshop. She delivers Blitzen’s direct address with a delicate thoughtfulness that is as much a rallying cry as it is an articulate examination of right and wrong. Grundy nails the demeanor of a smart young activist who has had just enough to drink that the she is delighted at an opportunity to deliver an enthusiastic lecture to anyone present.” (www.offoffonline.com)
And from my most recent show, Hooray for What!, in which I play a citizen of Sprinkle, IN, a spy, a singing spy, a musical spy, a fashion model (no really) and a soldier. I got a nice sentence in a somewhat mixed review from nytheatre.com:
“Standouts among the remaining cast include…Rachel Grundy who executes her many parts, including as saxophonist and flutist, with natural ease.”
Nice to know that even a chorus part can get you a little notice sometimes. :)
