Bugs
I’ve finally succumbed to a winter bug. I was very proud of my immune system for fighting off various different colds, coughs and flus that were floating around my day job and every cast of the four shows I am currently doing (actually, two just closed so I’m down to two now!), but I finally got so tired that I think my body gave up fighting them all off. I’m now drowning in supplements and hot drinks, but fortunately I’m pretty quick to bounce back from illnesses, so a day and a half at home in the warm has seen me back to at least a working version of myself.
However, I’m not managing to catch up on all the sleep I really need. Biggest challenge is waking up on time in the morning even when I’ve gone to bed early the night before. I’ve been going non-stop, 7 days a week for over a month and I still have a month of it left before all my shows are done (and I start rehearsing ANOTHER show pretty soon after that), and it’s finally taking a toll on me. I’d love nothing more than to spend a week lying around my house, reading a book and watching crap on TV. Hopefully all this work will pay off soon and I’ll have a swish voiceover gig that involves working for 4 hours a week. I can dream, right?
