Weekends
I had a fantastic weekend being super busy on Saturday with a photoshoot, (with the incredibly talented John Minchillo for his upcoming photography book) – we froze our arses off standing on a street in the Village at 10am taking photos of me pulling stupid faces – followed by hosting the pub crawl (www.bakerloo.org for more information on the Greenwich Village Literary Pub Crawl), a recording of a podcast as publicity for my upcoming show, then a rehearsal where we ran lines, ate Chinese takeaway and I tried not to fall asleep on my friend Amy’s couch. Sunday was a heady mix of a lie in, catching up on 30 Rock episodes, a rehearsal, and an evening watching the Oscars.
I was also dead proud of myself for walking up to a total stranger in Starbucks on Saturday and asking to audition for their film – I had overheard a group of people talking about location scouting and stuff so I summoned up a bit of courage and got his card. It’s hard to do but I knew I would regret not trying, and at least if they are rude or you make a fool of yourself, you are likely to never see them again so what do you have to lose?
One day, I’ll earn a living doing all the things I did this weekend, and then I will have the most perfect life. Until then…back to the day job. Ho hum.
