Originally from the glamorous town of Eltham, in south-east London, Rachel grew up with a love of performing, although harbored a desire to be a veterinarian as a young child. Stemming from a love of animals and the beloved TV show All Creatures Great and Small, she abandoned this career path after realising she didn’t quite have the aptitude for science, and perhaps she liked the TV show more than the actual birthing of cows and chasing ducks.
She went on to study English Literature and Drama at the University of East Anglia, graduating with honors in 2004, and moved to New York not long after. Since then, she has worked consistently in the independent theatre scene, garnering multiple audience awards for acting in the process, played gigs all over New York with her rock and soul band, Coyote Love (including at prestigious venues such as The Bitter End and Elbow Room) and worked on independent film and television projects in the tri-state area. In her spare time, she is a host for the Greenwich Village Literary Pub Crawl, a reviewer for nytheatre.com, a practising Buddhist with SGI-USA and wife to a very patient man.
